The West Virginia State police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are reportedly working a cold case in Boone County.
WOWK Channel 13 reports investigators are searching for human remains near an old tipple in the Jeffery and Hewitt area.
Troopers have not released much information and they have not specified what cold case has renewed interest. State police did confirm to Channel 13 they received a tip on the cold case.
Residents in the area reported a large police presence Thursday.
