COVID-19 Continue to Surge in Mountain State


The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 995 new cases of COVID-19.


As of 10 o’clock Monday morning, West Virginia has 22,877 active cases of coronavirus.


Since the onset of the outbreak, 1,129 West Virginians have succumbed to the COVID-19. One person died in the last 24 hours.


West Virginia has 73,337 cumulative cases of the virus.


Today’s daily positive infection rate is 7.19%.


According to the color-coded map released by the WV DHHR this morning, 46 counties are either in orange or red categories.


Boone, Logan, Lincoln, Mingo Wayne and Wyoming counties are all in the red zone.


McDowell County is yellow.
