Traffic was shut down along Route 44 at Switzer Tuesday following a single vehicle crash.
The car was traveling south on 44 just before 9:30 Tuesday morning when it collided with a utility pole and skidded to a rest on the creek bank, according to the Main Island Creek Volunteer Fire Department.
The driver was transported to the hospital. Their condition is unknown.
The crash snapped the pole and knocked out multiple communications and television lines.
Road opened once again after several hours.
