DUI Checkpoint Set for Friday in Logan

The West Virginia State Police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint this Friday at Deskins’ Addition in Logan.

The checkpoint will take place between at 6 o’clock Friday evening and midnight.

According to a press release from the local detachment, the checkpoint’s primary purpose is to educate the motoring public on the effects of driving impaired by alcohol, drugs or both. Moreover, the check point is to act as a deterrent for driving under the influence.

Drivers will be checked for all driving infractions during the checkpoint.

The project is funded through the Commission on Drunk Driving Prevention.
