An elderly man from Lincoln County was killed Wednesday evening in a house fire in the Harts Creek area.
According to the Hamlin Fire Department, the fire happened at a home along Route 10 and Dry Branch Road in Harts Creek.
The victim is reportedly a 70-year-old man. Investigators say no one else was in the home.
The fire burned for quite some time because of low water supply.
The incident remains under investigation.
