Gov. Justice treated for possible Lyme

WVOW News

CHARLESTON Governor Jim Justice is receiving treatment for possible Lyme disease, his office said Wednesday.

“As of now, I am being treated for possible Lyme disease,” Justice said.

The thirty-sixth Governor of West Virginia canceled this week’s COVID-19 response briefing due to the sudden illness.

“With this weekend being Memorial Day weekend, I will be postponing my regularly scheduled COVID-19 briefings this week and will hold one as soon as possible after the holiday.”

The governor’s office announced Wednesday that Justice felt ill after events in Wheeling and Blacksville Monday.

He has since tested negative for the coronavirus.
