Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced the Commonwealth’s fourth highest report of new COVID-19 cases and the third highest report of fatalities due to the disease.
New infections of the virus amounted to 4,560 additional cases of the virus as of 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon.
Beshear reported 47 deaths for a total of 2,991 fatalities since the onset of the outbreak.
More than 1,700 people remain hospitalized.
Kentucky’s positivity rate of infection for Wednesday was 12.29%.
Governor Beshear’s next virtual conference on COVID-19 response is Thursday at 4 p.m.
