Lady Tigers knock off Class AAA No. 8 Lady Vikings 51-37

CHAPMANVILLE   Alaira Evans had 23 points and Class AA No. 9 Chapmanville knocked off Class AAA No. 8 Ripley 51-37 Monday night at the Danny Godby Gymnasium.

 

Chapmanville improved to 8-5 and won for the sixth time in its last seven games. Jaiden Mahon scored 10 points and Hayley Fleming had seven points.

 

Sophie Nichols had 17 points and Abbigail Eastman scored 12 for Ripley, who has lost four of its last five games. The Lady Vikings fell to 7-7 with the loss.

 

Chapmanville never trailed and led by as many as 18 points in the fourth quarter before Ripley closed the deficit to eight, 43-35, on Eastman’s basket with 2:06 to play.

 

The Lady Tigers finished the game on an 8-2 run to put the finishing touches on their eighth win of the season.
