NITRO Nitro doubled up Logan, outscoring the Lady Wildcats 32-16 in the second and third quarters, on way to a 50-32 win Wednesday night at Alumni Arena in the Class AAA Region IV championship.
Brooklyn Cawley had 11 points and Hailey Newsome 10 as Nitro won its 12th straight game to advance to next week's Class AAA state tournament.
The Lady Wildcats (22-3) earned the No. 3 seed and will play No. 6 PikeView at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Nitro will be making its first state tournament appearance since winning the Class AAA championship in 2021.
Brianna Gibson scored eight points and Mika Adams finished with seven for Nitro.
Bam Mosby led Logan with 10 points, Halle Crouse had nine, Kinley Steele eight and Addyson Amick five.
Logan finished the season with a 13-12 record and will return its entire roster next season. Logan will drop to Class AA for the next four seasons.
