Lambert accounts for three touchdowns, Wildcats defeat Tug Valley 27-12

NAUGATUCK Lucas Lambert rushed for two touchdowns and caught a third score to help Logan remain unbeaten defeating Tug Valley 27-12 Friday night.
Lambert hauled in a 68-yard touchdown and ran for a 21-yard score to stake Logan to a 14-6 halftime lead and scored on an 85-yard run in the third quarter as the Wildcats improved to 3-0 on the season.
Tug Valley led 6-0 after one quarter on a 10-yard pass from quarterback Preston May to Derek Jewell with 6:04 in the first.
With 5:31 to play in the second quarter, Lambert hauled in a pass from Adam Baisden and raced 68 yards to the end zone. Braydon Craddock tacked on the extra point to give the Wildcats a 7-6 lead.
Logan extended its lead to 14-6 with 3:32 to play before halftime when Lambert scored from 21 yards out.
In the third quarter, Logan added two touchdowns, the first a 4-yard pass from Baisden to Gage Green with 10:27 to play, and the second coming on Lambert’s 85-yard run with just 0:23 to play in the quarter.
Tug Valley got on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter when May and Jewell connected for a second touchdown, this one a 7-yard scoring strike with 2:54 to play.
Tug Valley (1-2) will host Wyoming East Friday while Logan (3-0) returns home and will entertain the Wayne Pioneers.
