LINCOLN COUNTY, WVa The Lincoln County Assessor was arrested Thursday at the Lincoln County Courthouse for domestic battery
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, Lincoln County Assessor Jereme Browning was taken into custody Thursday afternoon in connection with an incident that occurred at his residence in Harts.
On March 23, police responded to Mr. Browning’s residence on report of a fist fight between the assessor and his son at the home.
Browning was appointed to the position of assessor in 2020 and later won election to the post.
West Virginia State Police is investigating.
