Logan claims Fourth place finish at Logan Invitational
The Logan Wildcats finished fourth at Thursday’s Logan Invitational at Clear Fork Valley Country Club. Logan shot a team score of 368, while Carson Hale led the Wildcats individually with a 75 to tie for second.

CLEAR FORK The Logan Wildcats golf team shot an 88-over par 368 on

Thursday afternoon, finishing fourth overall at The Logan Invitational at the

Clear Fork Valley Country Club.


Westside finished with a 37-over par 317 and finished 23 shots ahead of

Sissonville, who shot a 70-over par 350. Tug Valley was third with a 78-over

par 358, Logan fourth and Independence rounded out the top five with a 98-

over par 378.


Logan and Sissonville fielded two teams in the event with Logan’s second

team shooting a 102-over par 382 to finish sixth. Liberty (Raleigh) was

seventh with a 119-over par 399 and Sissonville’s second team carded a 141-

over par 421 to round out the eight-team field.


Independence’s Carter Dickens was the individual medalist at 3-over par 73.

Logan’s Carson Hale and Westside’s Eli Short tied for second, carding a 5-

over par 75.


Logan’s Kevin Farmer finished with an 8-over par 78 to finish fourth while

Westside’s Cooper Hatfield and Tug Valley’s Parker Smith tied for fifth with a

9-over par 79.


Layne Coffman of Sissonville fired a 10-over par 80 to finish seventh, Brycen

Morgan of Westside was eighth with an 11-over par 81, teammate Parker


Cline ninth after a round of 12-over par 82 and Independence’s Drake Cook

and Logan’s Alton Ellis tied for 10 th place with a 14-over par 84.


Landon Hall shot a 22-over par 92 for Logan to finish 17 th while teammate

Adex Martin finished 20 th after a round of 27-over par 97.


Other golfers for Logan included Evan Porter, who was 24 th after a round of

31-over par 101; Chase Butcher finished 39-over par and was 30 th overall,

Matthew Canterbury fired a round of 44-over par to finish 35 th and Carter Frye

was 39 th after a 56-over par 126.
