Logan Co. Man Arrested For Violating DVP

A Logan County man faces several charges after an incident in Chapmanville Sunday night.

Officers from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were called to 175 Country Club Drive on reports that a man was attempting to kick down the door to the residence.


Upon arrival, police found Malcolm Meade pacing in the driveway.


Meade was reportedly immediately aggressive toward officers.


According to police reports, Meade ignored commands to stop walking and put his hands behind his back.


Once Meade was cuffed, he attempted an escape. When his attempts were unfruitful, he allegedly verbally attacked and spit on an officer.


When Meade was finally contained in the cruiser, officers conducted a pat down search which turned up six packages of suboxone.


Meade was transported from the scene to the Chapmanville Police Department.

Meade allegedly threatened harm to the residence where he was found and to the woman who lived in the home while he was in custody.


Meade was transported from Chapmanville Police Department to Southwestern Regional Jail to await arraignment.


Malcolm Meade is facing charges of burglary, assault on a police office, battery on a police officer, obstructing, terroristic acts, assault, possession of a controlled substance and violation of a DVP.


According to Logan County 911, there is an active domestic violence petition in place effective July 13, 2021.
