LOGAN Alton Ellis, Jaxon McClung and Devin Stewart each collected two RBIs, and the Logan Wildcats snapped a two-game losing streak with a 21-0 four-inning win over the Poca Dots on Senior Night at Roger E. Gertz Field Monday night.
Stewart had two hits including a double and scored two runs and Kevin Farmer collected two hits, drove in one and scored twice for Logan.
The Wildcats tied a season-high for runs scored, which they set in a 21-4 win at Poca on March 21.
Seniors Chase Hatfield and Cole Blankenship combined on a two-hit shutout of the Dots. Hatfield earned the win after allowing one hit and striking out four in three innings and Blankenship struck out two and allowed one hit in one inning on the mound.
The Wildcats scored four runs in the first, three in the second and 14 more in the third inning to improve to 14-8 on the season.
Preston Bonnett and Dawson West each had one hit for Poca. The have lost 18 of 19 games this season.
Jake Edwards was tagged with the loss after allowing 13 runs on seven hits in 2 1/3 innings. Edwards walked four, hit four and struck one batter.
Adam Baisden and McCormick Ilderton each had one hit to go along with one RBI. Jack Ball and Crew Blankenship each had one RBI and scored two runs apiece for Logan, who had 10 hits, but received contributions from just about everyone in Monday’s lineup.
Jayce Wolfe scored three runs, Hatfield had one hit and scored twice, Tanner Akers singled and Cole Blankenship drove in a run for the Wildcats.
Logan is back in action Wednesday evening as they host Class AA No. 7 Herbert Hoover.
