MAN A bizarre incident last weekend landed a man in jail for brandishing a weapon and attempted armed robbery.
Logan Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Speedway at Man for a possible armed robbery.
According to the complaint filed in Logan County Magistrate Court by Logan Deputy JL Isaacs, police stopped a man matching a description from Logan County 911 approximately a quarter of a mile from the location of the call. The suspect, 35-year-old Linzy Collins of Accoville, was walking down Main Street in Man and advised officers he was walking home.
According to the complaint, deputies discovered two knives during a safety frisk of the suspect.
A witness confirmed to deputies that Mr. Collins enter the store brandishing a knife and demanded money from the cash register. The witness, according to the criminal complaint, said the man started laughing and said he was joking.
Collins was charged with brandishing a deadly weapon and felony attempted armed robbery.
Bond was set at $5,000 10% and surety.
