PIKEVILLE A Mingo County, West Virginia man has been arrested in Pike County, Kentucky, on charges listed on an indictment that was returned nearly two years ago.

According to the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, 48-year-old Trellis Ray Cisco, of Matewan, was arrested Thursday last week on charges including assaulting an officer and attempt to disarm an officer.

Those charges originated in June 2024, when Cisco was originally arrested following an incident that occurred during a traffic stop. He had been pulled over for driving an ATV along U.S. 119. During the stop, police say he was unable to provide them with a license, insurance or registration. Moreover, he allegedly gave officers a false name.

Cisco was placed under arrest, at which time police say he fell to his knees and complained of a pain in his back. He was taken to the hospital, where police say he tried to take an officer’s gun and fought with police, reportedly screaming that officers would have to kill him before he went to jail.

He was taken to jail on multiple charges, including assaulting an officer and attempt to disarm an officer, along with disorderly conduct, terroristic threatening, resisting arrest, all-terrain vehicles violations, failure to produce insurance and operating on a suspended or revoked license.

After his arrest, he was able to post bond and was placed on home incarceration, but a judge later ruled he violated his home incarceration and issued a warrant for his arrest, but he was not located until last week.

Cisco is currently being held without bond in the Pike County Detention Center.
