Mingo County Remains Red


The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 402 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.


As of 10 o’clock Thursday morning, West Virginia has 4,747 active cases of coronavirus.

Since the onset of the outbreak, 443 West Virginians have succumbed to the virus. Seven deaths have been reported in the last 24-hours.


Today’s daily positive infection rate is 2.97%.


According to the state DHHR color-coded map released Thursday morning, Mingo County is the only county in the “red” category. “Red” is the most restrictive category.


Boone, Wayne and Wyoming counties are in the orange.


Lincoln County is gold and Logan County is Yellow.


McDowell County is green.


West Virginia has 23,466 cumulative cases of coronavirus.
