Mingo Man Leads Police On High-Speed Chase Fri.

A Mingo County man faces multiple charges stemming from a high-speed pursuit on a stolen motorcycle Friday.


35-year-old John Slone, of Williamson, was arrested Friday for possession of stolen goods, fleeing on foot and fleeing in a vehicle with reckless indifference.


The high-speed chase started around the intersection of Route 65 and US Route 119. Mingo County Deputies were requested for backup by Delbarton Police


The pursuit ended after Slone wrecked the motorcycle. According to police, the motorcycle reached speeds more than 100 miles per hour. Slone fled on foot after the crash.


According to the complaint, Slone continued to fight police when he was apprehended. Charges of obstructing and assault on a police officer were added to Slone’s charges.
