No Injuries from Early Morning Fire at Boone Memorial


A fire was reported this morning at Boone Memorial Hospital.


The fire occurred in an unoccupied room on the first floor, according to a press release from the hospital.


BMH said the fire was contained quickly due to the hospital’s sprinkler system and safety protocols.


There were no injuries.


The fire caused minimal damage to the facility. Moreover, neither the fire nor the resulting smoke spread to patient rooms or common area.


The West Virginia State Fire Marshal and the hospital are investigating the cause of the fire.

Fire Departments responding to the scene included Danville, Madison and Van.
