Over 8,000 Active Cases in W.Va. According to DHHR

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 696 new cases of COVID-19.


As of 10 o’clock Thursday morning, West Virginia has 8,187 active cases of coronavirus.

Since the onset of the outbreak, 555 West Virginians have succumbed to the virus. Two deaths were reported in the last 24-hours.


Today’s daily positive infection rate is 3.87%.


According to the state DHHR color-coded map released this morning, Mingo County continues to be the only county in the “red” category.


Lincoln, McDowell and Wyoming counties are orange.


Wayne County is gold.


Logan and Boone counties are yellow.


West Virginia has 30,897 cumulative cases of coronavirus.
