The Kanawha County Commission supports a state Public Service Commission move to dismiss a rate increase request from Appalachian Power.
Commissioners made that announcement Tuesday, saying the $5 to $9 a month increase in most customers’ bills is not feasible.
Also this week, the PSC filed a motion to dismiss the rate increase request.
Last month, Appalachian Power filed a request with the PSC to impose a surcharge on customers’ bills beginning June 1.
