Reds Win Out West

The Cincinnati Reds put a stop to their 2-game skid on the West coast last night as they defeated the San Francisco Giants by a final score of 3-0. While it was not the huge offensive output that fans have become accustomed to this season from the Reds, it was enough to get the job done. More importantly it saw a huge swing from Joey Votto who knocked a solo homerun into McCovey Cove in the 6th to add to the Reds lead and secure the win. Wade Miley gets the win for the Reds on the mound to improve to 2-0 this season. Lucas Sims recorded his first save. The Reds only allowed 2 hits to the Giants. The win allowed the Reds to keep their 1 game lead in the NL Central over the Brewers as the Reds now sit at 7-3. The Reds look to continue their winning ways as they are back in action tonight against the Giants in San Francisco. First pitch is scheduled for 9:45pm.
