Active cases in the Mountain State are down by a hundred since yesterday with 6,615 total active cases.
The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 297 new cases of coronavirus in the state as of Friday morning.
Five deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours. Since the onset of the outbreak, 2,756 West Virginians have died due to complications from the coronavirus.
Today’s infection rate is 5.13%.
Hospital cases now stand at 255 patients with 86 of those patients in ICU and 34 patients needing a vent.
Fully vaccinated individuals make up around 38.6% of the state’s population and around 46% of West Virginians have received at least one shot.
