The West Virginia Legislature’s Joint Committee on Redistricting will host public hearings concerning district boundary lines and one of those hearings will be conducted in Logan County.
The purpose of a hearing is to gain public comment based on the 2020 U.S. Census.
The West Virginia Constitution requires Congressional and Legislative boundaries to be determined every ten years.
The committee will hit the road for the hearings on July twenty-seventh and the second stop will be in Logan at Conference Center in Chief Logan State Park. The public hearing is schedule for Thursday, July twenty-ninth between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
The Legislature will determine later this year the district lines for the state’s Congressional districts and a 100 single delegate district map for the West Virginia House of Delegates.
