Trio of Wildcats combine for five inning no-hitter in 18-0 erasing of Poca Dots

LOGAN Owen Bryant, William Bryant and Adam Baisden combined to throw a five-inning no-hitter as the Class AA No. 2 Wildcats erased the Poca Dots 18-0 Monday night at Roger E. Gertz Field.
Owen Bryant threw two hitless innings striking out five and hitting one batter, and relievers William Bryant threw two hitless innings striking out six and hitting one and Adam Baisden struck out three in his only inning of relief.
Logan improved its record to 15-1 and has won 14 straight games. Poca fell to 4-16 and has lost eight of its last 10 games.
Baisden, Crew Blankenship and Alton Ellis each had two of the Wildcats 14 hits while Baisden and Brayden Craddock each had two RBIs.
Logan scored nine runs in the first inning off two Poca pitchers. Starting pitcher Jacob Legg allowed four runs, walked three, hit one and failed to register an out in the first inning before being relieved by Nick Graley, who allowed five runs on three hits, three walks and hit two in 2/3 innings.
Tanner Akers, Crew Blankenship, Luke Blankenship, Ellis, Gabe Goldie, Landon Hall, Jaxon McClung, Ivan Miller, Devin Stewart, and Talan Thompson each had one RBI for the Wildcats.
Luke Blankenship, Craddock, Goldie, Alex Good, Hall, Gage Hensley, Miller and Bentley Williamson each had one hit for Logan.
Logan returns to action Tuesday evening at home against fourth ranked Scott at 7 p.m.
