NAUGATUCK A man was flown to a hospital after his vehicle was struck by a train Sunday in Mingo County.
According to the West Virginia State Police, a Kermit man was trying to cross a railroad crossing by Bittersweet Lane in Naugatuck when a passing Norfolk Southern train struck the vehicle. 62-year-old David Maynard failed to yield to the oncoming train.
Reportedly, the train overturned the vehicle and the driver was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital to be treated for “non-life-threatening injuries,” according to the news release from state police.
The investigation is ongoing.
