W.Va. Death Toll Stands Now at 2,200


The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported thirteen deaths over the last 24-hours due to COVID-19.


Since the onset of the outbreak, 2,200 West Virginians have succumbed to coronavirus.


As of 10 o’clock this morning, West Virginia has 13,103 active cases of coronavirus. An additional 467 cases of COVID-19 were reported Friday.


Today’ daily positive infection rate is 3.17%.


W.Va. has administered 232,046 doses of the first round of vaccine. As of 10 o’clock this morning, 122,017 residents have received both rounds of shots.


One county, Hampshire, is red according to the West Virginia county alert map released this morning by the state department of health and human resources.


Eighteen counties are orange including Boone, Mingo and Wayne.

Eleven counties are gold including Logan.


Eleven counties are yellow Wyoming.


Fourteen counties are green, that is the greatest number of counties categorized as green since the virus surge took hold in November.
