The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 1,896 new cases of COVID-19.
As of 10 o’clock Friday morning, West Virginia has 28,189 active cases of coronavirus.
Since the onset of the outbreak, 1,554 West Virginians have succumbed to COVID-19. Thirty-six people died in the last 24 hours.
Today’s daily positive infection rate is 6.72%.
According to the color-coded map released this morning by the state DHHR, 10 counties are in the orange category. Orange counties include Logan, McDowell and Wyoming.
Clay County is Gold.
All other counties are red.
West Virginia has received 109,440 doses of vaccine. As of press time, 77,156 doses have been administered.
