W.Va. joins Keystone pipeline lawsuit

West Virginia joined a lawsuit against President Joe Biden and his administration over his executive order revoking the Keystone XL oil pipeline permit.

A coalition of over 20 states argues the president doesn’t have authority to cancel the permit.

The suit argues only Congress has authority for regulation of interstate and international commerce.

The 2019 permit would have given access to thousands of barrels of oil flowing into the states from Canada.

Biden signed the order to revoke the permit on day one of his term in office.

President Trump first approved a permit for the pipeline in 2017.
