The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 1,199 new cases of COVID-19.
As of 10 o’clock Wednesday morning, West Virginia has 22,826 active cases of coronavirus.
Since the onset of the outbreak, 1,194 West Virginians have succumbed to COVID-19. Twenty-three people died in the last 24 hours.
West Virginia has 75,936 cumulative cases of the virus.
Today’s daily positive infection rate is 11.51%.
According to the color-coded map released by the WV DHHR this morning, 47 counties are either in orange or red categories.
Boone, Logan, Lincoln, Mingo and Wayne counties are all in the red zone.
McDowell and Wyoming counties are orange.
West Virginia has received 60,875 doses of vaccine. As of press time, 18,488 doses have been administered.
