Wayne County teen killed in two-vehicle crash Thursday

KENOVA Investigators say a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 52 Thursday afternoon claimed the life of a Wayne County teenager.

West Virginia State Police say the collision happened at around 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of Route 52 and Cedar Run Road near Kenova and resulted in the death of 18-year-old Ronald Fraley of Fort Gay.

A preliminary investigation revealed Fraley was driving southbound along Route 52 when his vehicle veered into the northbound lane. The vehicle reportedly struck the guardrail on the east side of the roadway and continued on until colliding head-on with another vehicle.

Fraley’s vehicle reportedly overturned in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of the preliminary investigation, drugs or alcohol are not considered suspected factors.
