The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 19additional deaths due to COVID-19 today.
Since the onset of the outbreak, a total of 4,238 West Virginians have succumbed to the virus.
Statewide, 714Mountain State residents are hospitalized for COVID-19. There are 211 patients in intensive care units and 128 of those patients are on ventilators.
As of Thursday morning, 1,100new infections were confirmed through laboratory testing.
W.Va. has 8,634 active cases of COVID-19.
The latest county alert map published by the state DHHR has eleven counties in the red zone including Boone, Mingo and Raleigh counties
Twenty-eight counties are orange.
Eight counties are gold including Logan.
Four counties, including McDowell, are yellow.
Four counties are green.
Red indicates the most severe spread of coronavirus in the state, followed by orange, gold, yellow and green.
