WVSC Chief Justice Jenkins Suspends Coronavirus Protocols In W.Va. Courts

State Supreme Court Chief Justice Evan Jenkins has suspended some coronavirus health and safety protocols for courts across the state.

The administrative order, issued Friday, allows courts to have normal court operations, yet courts may also hold hearings and proceedings using remote technology when appropriate.

Circuit Court and Family Court judges can also issue temporary ordinances in consultation with local health departments.

The Supreme Court will continue to monitor the coronavirus pandemic and reinstate protocols if there are health concerns.
