The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 540 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.
As of 10 o’clock Friday morning, West Virginia has 6,135 active cases of coronavirus.
Since the onset of the outbreak, 487 West Virginians have succumbed to the virus. Seven deaths were reported in the last 24-hours.
Today’s daily positive infection rate is 4.48%.
According to the state DHHR color-coded map released this morning, Mingo County is still in the “red” category. Two additional counties, Mineral and Marshall, are also red.
Lincoln and Wyoming counties are orange.
Boone, McDowell and Wayne counties are yellow.
Logan is green.
