Chapmanville places seven golfers in top 10, cruises to 42 stroke win

CHAPMANVILLE   Three Chapmanville golfers shot under par and the Tigers went on

to win its second tri-match of the season defeating Sherman and Tug Valley Monday

evening at the Logan Country Club.


Seven golfers finished in the top 10 for Chapmanville, who shot a team total of 3-under-

par 138 and finish 46 shots better than second place Sherman, who fired a 44-over-par

184 with Tug Valley finishing third after shooting a team total of 57-over-par 197.


Senior Justus Mann lead the way for Chapmanville with a 3-under-par 32 to take

medalist honors. A pair of Chapmanville seniors. Gavin Stollings and Cameron Wooten,

were two shots of Mann after firing a 1-under-par 34 to tie for second.


Tiger teammates, freshman Cooper Evans and senior Isaac Walters, tied for fourth after

carding a 3-over-par 38. Sherman senior Avery Skeens was sixth with a 5-over-par 40

followed by a pair of golfers, Chapmanville sophomore Zeke Tiller and Tug Valley senior

Jace Hale, who both shot a 7-over-par 42 to tie for seventh.


Sherman freshman Jonaaron Seacrist shot an 11-over-par 46 to finish ninth and three

golfers, Chapmanville senior Drake Dickerson, Tug Valley junior Benjamin Brumfield

and Sherman freshman Kaicen Cummings, tied for 10 th with a 13-over-par 48.


Chapmanville junior Colton Thompson carded a 16-over-par 51 to tie for 15 th with three

other golfers.


Chapmanville returns to the links Wednesday afternoon joining George Washington,

Nitro and Sissonville for a four-team match at the Little Creek Country Club in South

Charleston.
