Dozens Of Boone Co. Students Exposed To COVID-19

More than 70 students and five staff members have been asked to quarantine in Boone County after possibly being exposed to COVID-19.

Superintendent Jeff Huffman said one employee at Scott High School tested positive for the virus, prompting several students and staff to quarantine.

The girls’ soccer team at Scott High School and some players from the boys’ soccer team are being quarantined.

The girls' and boys’ cases are not related. On the girls’ team, there was someone who was symptomatic and testing results are pending.

Some members of the boys’ team were exposed to the staff member who tested positive, as well as some members of the band and cheer squad.

The county started the week in orange on the state’s color-coded map, but soon changed to gold.

Boone County schools will remain using remote learning at this time.
