MAN Cam Gerace pitched 6 1/3 shutout innings and Landon Cantrell homered and the Class A top-ranked Hillbillies beat the Westside Renegades 8-0 Thursday evening at William "Tootie" Carter Field.
Gerace allowed four hits, walked five and struck out eight.
Cody Walls pitched 2/3 innings and struck out two for Man, whose pitchers haven't allowed an earned run in its last 29 1/3 innings.
Cantrell had two hits. including his second home run of the season and drove in three runs as Man (9-2) won its fifth straight game. Gavyn Cline had two hits, including a double, and drove in one and Braxton Messer had a triple with one RBI and Hayden Farley one hit and one RBI.
Westside's (3-4) Charlie Hawks allowed eight runs and nine hits with three walks and five strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.
Ethan Bledsoe, Alex Brunty, Hayden Lester and Kadien Vance each had one hit for the Renegades.
Brayden Compton and Noah Maynor each had one hit and Cody Walls one RBI for Man.
