DANVILLE Scott plated five unanswered runs to rally from a four-run deficit and defeat Logan 6-5 in the Class AA Region 4 Section 2 tournament Monday evening at Lick Creek Park.

Cambri Barker singled in the bottom of the seventh to score Hannah Price, who slid into home just ahead of the throw, as the Lady Skyhawks staved off elimination to advance and face Chapmanville in the sectional championship game.

The top-seeded Lady Skyhawks, who improved to 19-9 with the victory, need two wins to capture the Class AA Region 4 Section 2 championship while second-seeded Chapmanville needs just one win to advance to next week’s Region 4 championship.

Logan led 5-1 in the fourth, but Scott got a two-run double from Hailey Capps to close the gap to 5-3.

The Lady Skyhawks tied the game with a pair of runs in the sixth inning as Tatum Halley had a sacrifice fly to cut it to 5-4. Capps scored from third base on a pass ball to knot the contest at 5-all after six innings.

Logan scored a run in the first on Harlee Quick’s squeeze bunt for a 1-0 lead.

Emilee Mullins had a two-run single in the third to put Logan up 3-0 before Scott got on the board in the bottom of the third when an error allowed Barker to score to make it a 3-1 game after three innings.

Logan ends the season with a record of 12-16.
