Logan BOE to Discuss Re-Entry Tonight

Two meetings of the Logan County Board of Education this week will consist of discussion and possible acceptance of a re-entry plan for Logan County Schools.

The first meeting is this evening in the board room at the Ralph R Willis Career and Technical Center.

The meeting after tonight will be a special session on Thursday at the administration building on Holly Avenue in Logan.

Both meetings begin at 5 p.m.

Governor Jim Justice recently announced elementary and middle school students may begin five day in-person instruction regardless of the county’s color next week.

High Schools will still operate depending on the county alert map published by the DHHR.

Justice said that the ultimate decision is up to the local boards of education in each county.

The Governor suggested, during yesterday’s briefing on virus response, he may change the map again in advance of schools returning.

Justice said he may broaden the orange category and therefore raise the threshold of what determines a red county.
