Logan confirmed 1 death and 8 new cases of virus


One death connected to the coronavirus was confirmed by the Logan County Health Department Thursday evening.


Health Department Director Steve Browning confirmed the death of a 45-year-old female due to complications from COVID -19. Since the onset of the outbreak, a total of 83 Logan residents succumbed to the virus.


Eight new infections were detected through laboratory testing. The Thursday update from the health department counts 31 new cases of COVID since Friday last week.


Forty-three new recoveries were reported this week


Logan County has 79 active cases, 2,832 recoveries and 83 fatalities for a cumulative total of 2,994 cases of COVID-19.


Nine people remain hospitalized.
