The Mountaineer Emergency Medical Services Strike Team has deployed to Louisiana to assist with the aftermath of Hurricane Laura.
One Logan County Emergency Ambulance Service Authority Paramedic Unit and seven Kanawha County Ambulance Authority units make up the strike team.
Logan County Paramedic Supervisor Ray Bryant along with EMT Paige Napier left Friday to join a convoy destined for the staging area in Gonzales Louisiana.
This is the eighth deployment for Logan County to areas in need of assistance.
