Motorcycle wreck sends woman down Horsepen Mountain


A landing zone on top of Horsepen Mountain was conducted at the intersection of State Route 44 and US Route 52 for a patient injured in a motorcycle crash.

HORSEPEN MOUNTAIN A Logan County woman survived a motorcycle crash over the weekend.


The wreck occurred Sunday afternoon when a woman, traveling south bound on Route 44 near the summit of horse pen mountain, lost control of her motorcycle and hit a guardrail. The rider was ejected over the railing and down the mountain, according to firefighters on the scene.


Rescue crews from the Logan Emergency Ambulance Service Authority and Main Island Creek Volunteer Fire Department immobilized the patient for transport back up the mountain.


She was taken by helicopter to a hospital.


Her status is currently unknown.

Logan County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident.
