Noe Drives in Four, Hits One of Three Lady Wildcats Home Runs in Win Over Indians

LOGAN Taylor Noe had two doubles, a home run and drove in four runs to help lead the Logan Lady Wildcats past the Sissonville Indians 8-5 Thursday night at Bea Orr Field.


Noe hit a three-run home run and Harlee Quick added a solo shot as part of a four-run second inning. Myleigh Adkins had a solo home run in the fifth inning as Logan hit three home runs and pounded out 10 hits. Seven different players had at least one hit for Logan.


Adkins picked up the win for Logan after allowing two runs on two hits while striking out nine and walking two in five innings of work in the circle.


Emilee Mullins singled in the first inning scoring Lacy Curry to put Logan on top 1-0. Noe’s home run put Logan up 4-0 and two batters later Quick added a solo shot to make it 5-0 Lady Wildcats after two innings.


Sissonville plated a pair of runs in the top of fourth when Alexa Asbury singled to score Abigail and Autumn Bailey cutting Logan’s lead to 5-2.


Noe’s double in the bottom of the fourth scored Makenna Ooten giving the Lady Wildcats a 6-2 lead after four.


Abigail Bailey’s sacrifice fly in the fifth scored Taylor Oxley to bring Sissonville within three, 6-3.


Logan plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth to regain its five-run lead. Adkins led off the inning with a solo home run over the center field fence for a 7-3 lead and Kaylie Coleman’s RBI groundout allowed Lauren Adkins to score and extend Logan’s lead to 8-3 after five innings.


Ana Soblit’s two-run home run in the sixth cut Logan’s lead to 8-5, but Sissonville would get no closer as the Lady Wildcats held on for a season opening win.

Soblit was the losing pitcher after allowing five runs in two innings of work in the circle. Emma Lester worked four innings of relief allowing three runs on five hits while striking out four.


Charlie Albright tossed two innings of relief in the circle and allowed two runs on four hits. She walked four and struck out four for the Lady Wildcats.


Asbury had two hits, one of which a double, and drove in two runs to lead Sissonville at the plate. Abigail Bailey had two hits, a double and one RBI while Soblit had a two-run home run for the Lady Indians at the plate.


Ooten had two hits and scored twice for Logan. Lauren Adkins had one hit and Coleman drove in one run with her lone hit for the Lady Wildcats.


Sissonville (0-1) will host Wayne on Wednesday while Logan (1-0) will host Pikeville (KY) Monday evening at Bea Orr Field.
