Undefeated Man Hillbillies defeat Tug Valley Panthers 85-56


In high school basketball action, the Man Hillbillies improved to 4-0 on the season and dethroned the number one team in Class A, as they routed the Tug Valley Panthers 85-56 Wednesday night at Man High School to drop the Panthers from the ranks of the unbeaten.


Tug Valley jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead before Man went on a 9-0 run, and never looked back. The Hillbillies held a 17-11 lead after the first quarter. Man erupted in the second period to outscore the Panthers 24-10 and take a 41-21 lead at the half.

Man showed no signs of slowing down in the second half. Junior Caleb Blevins knocked down four of his five three-pointers to finish with a game-high 24 points. Junior Austin Ball poured in 21 points and senior Peyton Adams added 16 points in the win.


Tug Valley was led by top scorer Caleb May who had 17 points in the loss.


The Hillbillies will get back into action Thursday night when they travel to Buffalo to take on the Bison. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
