An early morning fire reported in the City of Logan Friday.

A vacant apartment building on Cole Street that has caught fire multiple times in the past was once again a blaze around 5 o’clock this morning. The former apartment complex is located at the corner of Cole and High Streets.

The four story building, 3 floors above ground and 1 below, has been vacant for years. Moreover, the building has been known to house squatters.

The fire is believed to have been set deliberately. Flames roared from the basement up through the roof and has left another burned and blackened building in its wake.

There is no current word on what started the fire, but Fire Chief Scott Beckett said the fire is being investigated as arson.

There were no injuries or damage to neighboring properties reported.
