Mingo County is out of the red, but not back in the classroom after the most recent update to the West Virginia Schools Metric Map.
Mingo County moved from red to orange on Saturday, which shows some improvement.
However, students will remain out of the classroom for the sixth week in a row. The playoff game for Tug Valley High School set for Sunday was also canceled.
Elsewhere in the Coalfields – Lincoln, Logan, Wyoming and Wayne Counties are also orange – meaning strictly remote learning for those school systems.
Boone County is gold.
McDowell County is yellow.
The school alert system map is updated every Saturday.
