Williamson man charged with murder of his aunt

WILLIAMSON A Mingo County man accused of killing his aunt.

Twenty-seven-year-old Chase Prater, of Williamson, was arrested Friday for the fatal shooting of Teresa Harmon, according to the Mingo County Sheriff’s Department.

Harmon’s body was discovered at her Delbarton residence on March 31.

Prater deliberately shot Harmon, a social media post from the Mingo County Sheriff's Department alleged.

Harmon was shot in the head.

Prater faces a first-degree murder charge and is currently being held without bail at the Southwestern Regional Jail.
