BOONE COUNTY, WVa A single vehicle crash in Boone county early Sunday morning claimed the life of a seventeen-year-old girl and now her sister is facing charges for causing the crash.
The crash happened on Cameo Road the morning of New Year’s Eve.
West Virginia State Police identified the driver as 23-year-old Brandy May Adkins, of Harts. She suffered minor injuries and was treated at Boone Memorial Health.
According to reports, Adkins’ teenage sister died at the scene. The victim’s body was transported West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office.
Adkins is now facing a charge of DUI Causing Death as police say alcohol and speed of travel were factors in the crash.
Adkins was booked at the Southwestern Regional Jail with bond set at $50,000 cash or surety.
